Desay SV Europe has laid the foundation stone for a new office building and a 3D antenna measurement chamber in Weimar. This will enable electromagnetically shielded measurements on the entire vehicle.
Desay SV Europe has laid the foundation stone for a new building project in Weimar-Legefeld. A 17-metre-high 3D antenna measurement chamber and a three-storey office building are being built on a site measuring almost 10,000 square meters. The first construction phase is scheduled for completion by August 2025. The new campus will provide space for two further office complexes.
Over 25 million euros will be invested in the first construction phase and 110 jobs will be created. In the final expansion phase, around 350 employees will be working on the new campus. According to Michael Weber, Managing Director of Desay SV Europe, this is the largest investment in Germany to date.
Performance measurement in the overall system
The 3D antenna measurement chamber enables electromagnetically shielded vehicle measurements. In addition to cars, the measuring chamber can also be used to measure truck tractors and bodies weighing up to ten tons. The vehicle can also be positioned off-center and up to a height of around four and a half meters, which should enable faster and more precise measurements in high frequency ranges.
Die Messungen im abgeschirmten Umfeld sind „eine wichtige Voraussetzung für die Entwicklung von hochvernetzten Fahrzeugen“, sagt Marcus Och, Entwicklungsleiter bei Desay SV Europe. Künftige Fahrzeuge mit hoher Antennen- und Elektronikdichte müssten sichere, stabile Verbindungen, hohe Datenübertragungsraten, geringe Latenzzeiten und eine hohe Positionsgenauigkeit sicherstellen. Entscheidend sei daher, das Gesamtsystem in einer abgeschirmten, reproduzierbaren und reflexionsfreien Umgebung zu untersuchen, so Och weiter.
Desay: Expansion in Europa
Nach einer Reihe von Investitionen in Deutschland plant Desay SV Europe die Eröffnung von Büros in Europa in unmittelbarer Nähe von Automobilkunden, so zum Beispiel in Paris, im tschechischen Mlada Boleslav, im schwedischen Göteborg und in Wolfsburg. Außerdem plane das Unternehmen einen weiteren Produktionsstandort in Europa. Derzeit werden Antennen- und Infotainmentprodukte an zwei Standorten in Weimar produziert bzw. endmontiert.
