Desay SV Europe has officially launched a major new construction project in Weimar-Legefeld. The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by Thuringia's Minister of Economic Affairs Wolfgang Tiefensee and Weimar's Lord Mayor Peter Kleine.

The almost 10,000 square meter site is located in the immediate vicinity of the company's European headquarters. The new building includes a state-of-the-art 3D antenna measurement chamber for vehicles of different classes as well as a three-storey office building. The first construction phase is scheduled for completion by August 2025, with sufficient space for two further office complexes.

Desay SV invests 25 million euros in state-of-the-art antenna measurement chamber

Dr. Michael Weber, Managing Director of Desay SV Europe, emphasizes the significant investment of over 25 million euros in the first construction phase at the Weimar-Legefeld site. This will create jobs for 110 employees, and in the final expansion stage, around 350 highly qualified employees are planned for the new campus. The investment will strengthen Desay SV Europe's project and technology expertise in the field of complex vehicle networking, a key topic for the future of mobility.

Marcus Och, Head of Development at Desay SV Europe, explains the importance of the 3D antenna measurement chamber for electromagnetically shielded vehicle measurements. These are crucial for the development of highly networked, autonomous vehicles. Future vehicles with a high antenna and electronics density must guarantee secure, stable connections, high data transmission rates, low latency times and maximum positioning accuracy. Measuring the performance of the overall system in a shielded, reproducible and reflection-free environment is essential in such complex scenarios.

Position strengthened by new locations in Germany and Europe

Desay SV Europe has already strengthened its expertise and presence in Germany over the past two years. This includes the opening of a second production site for infotainment solutions in Weimar, the acquisition of Antenna Technology Center (Europe) ATC GmbH in Itzehoe, the opening of an office for development and project management in Hildesheim and the inauguration of an optical testing laboratory in Weimar. The growth and expansion plans also include the opening of offices in Europe, including in Paris and Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic, in close proximity to automotive customers.
