Antenna and electronics specialist Desay SV Automotive Europe is starting 2023 with big plans. The medium-sized company, originally Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg, has been part of the Chinese Desay SV Group since March 2019 and aims to achieve sales of around 500 million euros by the end of the decade. In 2022, the supplier from Weimar had achieved sales of around 30 million euros. In 2023, the team is to be increased by 100 to around 300 employees, according to Managing Director Michael Weber. Competitors of the supplier include Continental, Joy-next or Harman Becker.
Weber points to the good order situation for his growth plans. "As Desay SV Europe, we have won a total of 20 projects in the automotive sector in 2021 and 2022." Among them is an order with a sales volume of 500 million euros.
The manager expects growth in Europe "above all in the smart cabin segment." The topic of driver assistance is also gaining significant relevance. "The solutions of our parent company will be adapted to the European market," says Weber.
The center for antenna development is in Weimar. The electronics and software platform for the "Smart Antenna" is developed in China and adapted to customer needs by technical specialists at the company's headquarters in Thuringia. According to Weber, product and project management will be "carried out and taken responsibility for in Weimar."
Desay SV Europe plans to build a European manufacturing plant for its electronics and display production this decade. "Customers want green and robust supply chains," Weber emphasizes. The supplier also plans to build a shielded 3-D antenna measurement chamber in Weimar. The facility is scheduled to go into operation in mid-2025. Groundbreaking is planned for September 2023.
