The company is building an antenna measurement chamber for vehicles and an office building in Weimar. Over 100 new jobs are to be created.
Desay SV Automotive is investing 25 million euros at its site in Weimar. The supplier with a Chinese parent company is building an antenna measurement chamber and an office building. A total of 110 new jobs are to be created there. The construction work should be completed by August 2025.
The site is just under 10,000 square meters in size. According to the company, further investments will be made there in the coming years. For example, in two further office buildings. "In the final expansion stage, around 350 employees will be working on the new campus," says Dr. Michael Weber, giving an outlook. He is Managing Director of Desay SV Europe, a subsidiary of the Chinese conglomerate Desay.
Measuring chamber for vehicles
In the first construction phase, a 3D antenna measurement chamber for vehicles of various classes is being built on the site in the Legefeld district of Weimar. With increasing connectivity and electronics density in vehicles, measuring individual sub-functions is no longer sufficient, says Head of Development Marcus Och, describing the need to measure the entire vehicle. The measuring chamber offers a "shielded, reproducible and reflection-free environment" for this purpose.
"This is our biggest investment in Germany to date," said Dr. Michael Weber at the ground-breaking ceremony for the new construction project. The Managing Director has been with the company since the beginning of 2016 (then still Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg). Since the takeover by Desay SV in the fall of 2020, Weber apparently has the financial means to significantly expand business activities: The service provider Antenna Technology Center in Itzehoe was acquired at the end of 2022. Investments were also made in an optical test laboratory for displays in Weimar.
Desay SV Europe is part of Huizhou Desay SV Automotive based in China. The Group offers its customers there electronics and software in the areas of interior, assistance systems and telematics.
