The former Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg, now Desay SV, wants to concentrate on the supplier business. The aftermarket division has now been sold.

Desay SV Europe, formerly Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg, wants to concentrate exclusively on its business with car manufacturers. The supplier announced in the summer that it intended to sell its aftermarket activities. An investor for the division has been found in Michael Märte. According to Desay, ATTB Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg GmbH, founded by Märte, will formally take over the division.

According to Desay, around 50 employees work in the retrofit sector. The company is forecasting a turnover of seven million euros for 2022. Customers include manufacturers of special vehicles, resellers, wholesalers and retrofit companies.

The sale will take place as part of an asset deal, in which personnel and assets such as production equipment and tools, inventories and license rights will be transferred to the buyer. The legally binding closing of the transaction is expected in mid-December.

Michael Märte was Managing Director of Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg from 2003 to 2017. He then moved to TÜV Thüringen. The new company will be based in Teichröda (Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district). Märte sees customers from the Smart Meter, Smart City and Smart Industry sectors as target markets.

Desay's OEM business

Desay will therefore retain the OEM business with the areas of "Smart Cabin" (infotainment solutions), "Smart Drive" (driver assistance systems) and "Smart Antenna" (intelligent antenna solutions). The company supplies its customers with antenna technology as well as infotainment for the vehicle cabin and driver assistance systems. Since the takeover of ATC, the portfolio has also included measurements. The supplier has won over 20 project orders in these business areas in the past two years. This is expected to result in future sales in the three-digit million euro range, the company adds.

The parent company has its own display production facility in China, explained Michael Weber, Managing Director of Desay SV Automotive Europe, in an interview with "Automobil Industrie". According to Weber, the area of driver assistance systems has also grown very strongly within the Group recently. In addition to sensors, Desay offers a domain controller that combines and processes sensor signals.
