On November 4, the Erfurt Chamber of Industry and Commerce honored the best apprentices in Thuringia. Among them was Jacob Martini, who began his training as an industrial business management assistant at Desay SV in Weimar-Legefeld in September 2021 and graduated with top marks in June 2024.
“I applied to 10 companies in the region and in the end chose Desay SV,” says Jacob. “The job interview was very exciting, I really liked the employees I met and I was impressed by the internationality of the company.”
During his training, Jacob gained insights into various functions at Desay SV Europe, including production, accounting, human resources, sales, the order control center, the customs department, and production control. Since successfully completing his training as an industrial business management assistant, he has been working at Desay SV in Weimar-Legefeld as an accountant, where he is mainly responsible for fixed assets and monthly financial statements.
“I was always good at math and have a penchant for numbers,” Jacob says, explaining his decision. “Accounting was my favorite subject at vocational school. Alongside my current job, I am doing further training at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce to become a business administrator.”
Tanja Pfeiffer, who heads the Finance & Controlling department, adds: “Jacob is a real pleasure to work with. He is full of energy, very interested in all topics and always committed. His performance is exceptional. He has mastered the double burden of vocational school and demanding Desay SV work with bravura.”
In the meantime, another trainee is working at Desay SV Europe. In August, Sophie Somol began her training as an office management assistant. She will be supporting the marketing department until the end of the year.
