With reliable antenna technology and sophisticated vehicle electronics that make driving safer, more comfortable and more efficient, Desay SV Europe will present itself at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg from October 11-13, 2022.
Latest technology developments and solutions
On a 40-square-meter stand in Hall 1 (IZB1 1317), Desay SV Europe will showcase some 20 latest technology developments and solutions in three categories: smart connectivity (Smart Antenna), smart vehicle cabin (Smart Cabin) and smart driver assistance systems (Smart Drive). Exhibits include a 23.6-inch curved display with integrated backlighting and mini-LED technology for uniform color display and high contrast ratio, a rearview camera that uses ultrasonic technology to clean itself in a very short time, a Shy Tech display that seamlessly blends into surrounding surfaces (e.g., wood, leather, glass, metal) when not in use, and a smart integrated 5G V2X roof antenna with a variety of communication services.
Intelligent computer platform ICP Aurora
With the presentation of ICP Aurora, Desay SV is also looking to the future. The intelligent computer platform makes it possible to integrate the numerous control units for vehicle electronics in a small device, saving space and costs, and to coordinate them optimally. ICP Aurora has a modular design (up to 6 blades) and can be configured as required. In addition, cables and thus also weight and costs are saved compared to conventional system architectures.
Extensive investments in Europe
"With investments in development, project management, sales, quality, manufacturing and logistics, we have been expanding strongly in Europe for a number of years," says Dr. Michael Weber, Managing Director of Desay SV in Europe. The starting signal was given in 2019 when the Chinese group Huizhou Desay SV Automotive Co. Ltd. took over the antenna specialist Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg GmbH. Shortly thereafter, all European activities were brought together under the umbrella of Desay SV Automotive Europe GmbH, based in Weimar. In September 2021, R&D activities were expanded to include a center for prototype vehicles. At the center, engineers and software specialists develop and test antenna, driver assistance and infotainment solutions for European car and commercial vehicle manufacturers. In February 2022, a second production facility was opened in northwest Weimar in addition to the antenna production at the company's headquarters in Weimar-Legefeld. On an area of 2,700 square meters, mainly infotainment products such as radios are final assembled, tested and stored and held ready for delivery to car manufacturers throughout Europe.
State-of-the-art 3D antenna measurement chamber goes into operation in 2025
Another milestone is already in the planning stage: the construction of a state-of-the-art 3D antenna measurement chamber. It is scheduled to go into operation in 2025. "The numerous investments are already paying off: Desay SV Europe has won 14 projects from well-known vehicle manufacturers in the past one and a half years," Dr. Michael Weber is pleased to report. The number of employees has doubled to more than 180 since 2019. In the medium term, the company plans to grow to more than 400 employees.
